About

Anton Tsibu is a storyboard artist. Anton knew from a fairly young age that he was going to be an artist in animation. He didn’t actively pursue an art training until he was halfway through high school, taking both theatre and visual arts courses. His formal art education began when he began attending the Savannah College of Art & Design in 2012. There, he majored in Sequential Art while minoring in Storyboarding: graduating in 2016. He continued his education through the Academy of Art University in 2017 majoring in Animation with a focus in Storyboarding.

Before and during his time at the Academy, Anton has used his visual storytelling skills and understanding of film language in works on shows and projects. His help was outsourced by the independent Curlstone Entertainment as both a storyboard artist and revisionist on the series Badr. He would later collaborate with a filmmaker on their thesis film 100 Days Under. Meanwhile, Anton would pitch his own projects to the Academy’s Studio X. These included: Hi, I’m Steve in: “Steve Goes to the Gym,” and a portion of his thesis project Trio.

Anton’s passion for storyboarding grew from this regular collaboration, breaking down a feature’s story to its core, while adding to it to create that targeted emotion. He wants to work within feature animation, where he can help develop stories that strike emotional chords, with a level of action. Anton hopes for animation to continue improving on its inclusivity, and add to representation and real-world story of many different people: to inspire young artists of every walk of life.
